There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilæans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. At that time some of those present told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilæans were sinners above all the Galilæans, because they suffered such things? To this He replied, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered this way?Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem?Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them—do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”
He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then Jesus told this parable: “A man had a fig tree that was planted in his vineyard. He went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? So he said to the keeper of the vineyard, ‘Look, for the past three years I have come to search for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Therefore cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down! Why does it waste the soil?’
And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it :‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone again this year, until I dig around it and fertilize it.He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
And if it bear fruit, well : and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.If it bears fruit next year, fine. But if not, you can cut it down.’”If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”

She was hunched over and could not stand up straight.Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up.

And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.Then He placed His hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and began to glorify God.He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.But the synagogue leader was indignant that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. “There are six days for work,” he told the crowd. “So come and be healed on those days and not on the Sabbath.”The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?“You hypocrites!” the Lord replied. “Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it to water? Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?
And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? Then should not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be released from her bondage on the Sabbath day?”Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him. When Jesus said this, all His adversaries were humiliated. And the whole crowd rejoiced at all the glorious things He was doing. As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? To what can I compare it?He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.It is like a mustard seed that a man tossed into his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.”It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?Again He asked, “To what can I compare the kingdom of God?Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. It is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.”It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:After the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, you will stand outside knocking and saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’ But he will reply, ‘I do not know where you are from.’When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. And he will answer, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers.’He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves are thrown out. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.
And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.People will come from east and west and north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.
And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last. And indeed, some who are last will be first, and some who are first will be last.”Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”

And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. But Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘Look, I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.’He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.Nevertheless, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day, for it is not admissible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.Look, your house is left to you desolate. And I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
